What is a lifepath number?

Have you ever wondered why you’re drawn to certain paths, people, or patterns in life? Your Life Path Number in numerology holds powerful clues about who you are, what you’re here to learn, and how you’re meant to grow. Often called your “soul’s blueprint,” this number is calculated from your birth date and reveals your natural strengths, recurring challenges, and deepest purpose. In this post, you’ll learn how to calculate your Life Path Number and what it says about your personality, relationships, and spiritual journey. Whether you're new to numerology or deepening your self-awareness, your Life Path Number is a powerful starting point.

Discover Your Soul’s Blueprint Through Numerology

Your Life Path Number is one of the most important numbers in your numerology chart. It is calculated using your full date of birth and reveals key insights about your personality, strengths, life challenges, and spiritual journey. I use the Western style of numerology, rooted in the teachings of Pythagoras, the ancient Greek philosopher and mathematician. He discovered that numbers 1–9 (plus the master numbers 11, 22, and 33) carry unique vibrational frequencies and hidden spiritual meanings.

Why Is Your Life Path Number Important?

Your Life Path Number is like a spiritual compass, it offers guidance and deeper understanding of:

  • Your soul’s purpose in this lifetime

  • Natural talents and intuitive gifts

  • The types of challenges and opportunities you’ll encounter

  • Patterns you’re here to break or heal

  • How to align with your highest self and live with more clarity and confidence

The challenges linked to your Life Path Number often show up as self-sabotaging habits, emotional triggers, or limiting beliefs, especially within your closest relationships. Parents, partners, siblings, and friends may reflect aspects of yourself that you’re here to heal or develop. Understanding this helps you move from reaction to reflection, and from confusion to conscious choice.

How to Calculate Your Life Path Number

Your Life Path Number is calculated by adding each digit in your day, month, and year of birth until you reach a single-digit number (1–9), unless the total adds up to 11, 22, or 33, which are known as Master Numbers and are not reduced.

Example 1:
Date of Birth: 2nd August 1992
Calculation: 2 + 8 + 1 + 9 + 9 + 2 = 31, then 3 + 1 = 4
→ Life Path Number = 4

Example 2:
Date of Birth: 1st September 1985
Calculation: 1 + 9 + 1 + 9 + 8 + 5 = 33
→ Life Path Number = 33 (Master Number)

In a full numerology reading, I also look at the compound number (e.g., 31/4) for additional insights into how you express your path and what challenges you may face.

How to Protect Your Energy and Clear Negative Vibes

Your energy is sacred and in today’s fast-paced, emotionally charged world, it’s easy to feel drained, scattered, or energetically overwhelmed. As a sensitive, intuitive soul, learning to protect your energy isn’t just self-care, it’s survival. In this post, we’ll explore practical tools and empowering mindset shifts to help you ground your energy, set healthy boundaries, and stay connected to your inner power. Whether you’re navigating emotional burnout, spiritual fatigue, or simply need a reset, this is your guide to reclaiming your peace and protecting your light.

Have you ever walked into a room and instantly felt drained or uneasy? Do you often feel exhausted after interacting with certain people, even if they haven’t said much?

If you're sensitive to energy, you’re not alone. Many of us unknowingly absorb other people’s emotions, which can leave us feeling tired, anxious, or even physically unwell. Protecting your energy is essential for your emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being.

In this blog post, we’ll explore how to protect your energy field, clear negative energy, and create energetic boundaries that support your peace and power.

Signs Your Energy Is Being Affected

If you're frequently experiencing the following, it may be a sign your energy field is being impacted:

  • Feeling drained in crowded or emotionally intense environments

  • Sudden anxiety, fatigue, or negative thoughts after conversations

  • Getting the flu often or experiencing neck tension and heaviness

  • Feeling overwhelmed or emotionally depleted after supporting others

These symptoms suggest your energy is being polluted by external sources, commonly known as energy vampires. Often, people don’t mean to drain you, but their unresolved emotions can cling to your aura, affecting your vibration.

Let’s dive into practical and spiritual tools to help you protect and cleanse your energy daily.

1. Become Aware of Your Energy

The first step to energetic protection is awareness. Regularly check in with yourself:

  • How do I feel in this environment?

  • Am I energized or drained?

  • What energy am I putting out?

Awareness strengthens your connection to your intuition and allows you to stay rooted in the present moment.

2. Use Energy Protection Techniques

There are many spiritual tools you can use to guard your energy. Choose the ones that feel aligned for you below.

Visualize a Protective Light

Each morning (and throughout the day), take a deep breath and visualize a white or golden light expanding from your heart and surrounding your entire body in a glowing bubble. This protective shield blocks negative energy and helps you maintain a clear aura.

Repeat this technique before meetings, social events, or whenever you're around intense people.

Work with Crystals for Protection

Carry grounding and protective crystals with you, either in your pocket or close to your heart (such as in your bra).

Best Crystals for Energy Protection:

  • Hematite

  • Black Tourmaline

  • Smoky Quartz

  • Black Onyx

Remember to cleanse your crystals regularly, especially under the light of a full moon.

3. Use Light & Colour to Shift Energy

White Light: For purification, angelic protection, and clearing dense energy.

Gold Light: Helps with stress, trauma, anger, and emotional overload.

You can use either or both depending on your needs, trust your intuition.

4. Affirmations for Spiritual Protection

Repeat these powerful energy, clearing affirmations at the start of your day or whenever you feel vulnerable:

  • “I only allow love, light, and positive energy into my space.”

  • “May this white light shine unconditional love on everyone around me.”

  • “This light surrounds me with protection, harmony, and healing.”

  • “I am energetically protected. No negative energies can enter my space.”

5. Release the Guilt

One of the hardest places to protect your energy is within your family. The emotional bonds can make it difficult to set boundaries but remember protecting your energy is not selfish, it’s essential!

You can support loved ones without absorbing their energy. By prioritizing your own well-being, you can show up more grounded, compassionate, and helpful.

6. Choose High-Vibe Relationships

Be intentional with who you spend time with. Surround yourself with kind, loving, and supportive people who uplift your energy, not drain it.

When you're vibrating at a higher frequency, you naturally attract positive souls into your life. If you’re ready to meet aligned connections, set that intention and let the universe guide you.

7. Daily Practices to Clear Negative Energy

It’s important to regularly release any lingering energies you’ve absorbed. Here are some powerful techniques:

Energy-Clearing Rituals:

  • Take a shower and visualize all negativity washing down the drain

  • Use Epsom salt baths with essential oils (lavender is a great choice)

  • Swim in the ocean or walk barefoot on grass to ground into Mother Earth

  • Cut energetic cords by visualizing strings being cut and sending love back

  • Practice yoga, dance, or movement to shake off stuck emotions

  • Smudge your space with Sage or Palo Santo

  • Take deep breaths and imagine energetic ties being released from your body

Final Thoughts

Learning how to protect your energy field is one of the most powerful spiritual practices you can develop. By tuning into your energy, setting clear boundaries, and using simple yet effective tools, you can maintain your peace and power, no matter what’s going on around you.

Protecting your energy isn't just about avoiding negativity; it's about choosing to live in alignment with your highest vibration.
